Help with using Soihtu
Soihtu is made by one person, and the same person answers the email — usually the same day, and at the latest within two working days.
How do I get started?
Create an account in the app, add a child and photograph the material for their test. Soihtu reads the pages and turns them into questions. Once the questions are ready, your child can start practising.
How is a child's device linked to the family?
Open the child's details in the app and ask for a linking code. Install Soihtu on the child's device, choose to join and enter the code. The code is single-use and expires, so you can ask for a new one at any time.
How many pages fit into one set of exam material?
You can photograph 40 pages into one set of exam material, and you can add more pages later. If the teacher adds to what's on the test, open the test and choose to add pages — the new pages are attached to the same test.
A question is wrong or oddly worded
The AI gets things wrong from time to time. You can generate the questions again from the test view. If the mistake keeps happening or the content is inappropriate, send an email — tell us the subject and the question, and we'll put it right.
What happens when the trial ends?
The tests already created stay there for your child to practise on. Creating new tests requires a subscription. The trial is a one-off: the same email address gets it once, and deleting the account and creating it again does not start it over.
How do I cancel my subscription?
The subscription is cancelled in your Apple account settings, not in Soihtu: open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name at the top, choose Subscriptions and then Soihtu. The service is available until the end of the current period.
Refunds are claimed from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
How do I delete my account?
In the app: Asetukset → Tunnus → Poista tunnus (Settings → Account → Delete account). The deletion is confirmed by typing the word POISTA, so that it doesn't happen by accident.
- If you are the last adult in the family, the children, the tests, the exam material images and the practice history are deleted too.
- If there is another adult in the family, only your own data is deleted and the family remains with them.
- The deletion cannot be undone.
- Cancel the subscription separately in your Apple account settings — deleting your account does not stop the charges.
If you cannot get into the app, ask for the deletion by email from the address the account was created with.
I've forgotten my password
Choose ”Unohtuiko salasana?” (Forgotten your password?) on the sign-in screen, and you'll get an email with a link for setting a new one. Open the link on your phone, and Soihtu will open so that you can set a new password. If the message doesn't arrive, check your spam folder.
Does my child see prices or payment details?
No. The child's view has no prices, no subscriptions, no ads and no links outside the service. Everything to do with paying is on the adult's side.
Can a family have two adults?
Yes. Invite the other guardian from the app by email. They see the same children, tests and practice. The subscription is per family, so it doesn't have to be bought again.
What data is collected about my child?
Only what you give yourself: a name or nickname, the year group and the results of the practice. The full description is in the privacy notice.
